Exterior Redesign/Remodel

In this project, we removed all of the siding from the house and are replacing it with new cedar clapboard. We are replacing all of the exterior trim, and many of the windows. We are constructing a new portico over the front door to change the appearance of the entrance of this home. We will be replacing some windows with french doors, which will require revisions to the roof line. We are also replacing the entire roof with EPDM material, and adding architectural railing to a portion of the roofline. This is a major transformation for this house!

Original portico has been removed. This round portico was too small for the front entrance, and the columns obstructed the view of the beautiful original door.

New square portico is in the process of being constructed.

The new portico is complete. We designed and built this new portico to properly accent the front entry. Now the original front door details are visible. We sanded, restored, and painted the front door to return it to its original glory. The 2 new front columns were all that was needed to support the portico structurally, but we installed 2 matching decorative columns with the same profile for design purposes. We added crown and dentil moulding, in addition to a new railing on the widow's walk above the door.

This corner of the house had significant rot in the soffits. We removed and replaced the rot.

This section of the house will undergo a significant transformation. The bay window, single doors, and additional windows will all be removed. Symmetrical sets of new triple-double hung windows will be framed and installed, and a new french door with sidelights will be framed and installed.

Demo for this section of the remodel is underway.

The existing bay window is being removed. Because it is integrated into the roof line, we will be reframing not only the wall but the roofline. New soffits and fascia boards will be installed, along with all new trim. The interior side of this wall will also be reframed, receive new wall board, taping, and paint.
