Full house remodel – kitchen and bathrooms

We remodeled multiple bathrooms and the kitchen in this 4000+ square foot house built in the 1940s. We had to demo the kitchen and bathrooms, bringing the rooms down to the studs. The kitchen received new custom cabinets, new appliances, new granite countertops including an island, a custom designed and built corner banquette, tiled backsplash, paint, and custom trimwork. The bathrooms all received new tiled floors - heated!, new vanities, new tubs and/or showers, glass shower doors, paint, and accessories. We even had to dismantle custom woodwork in the basement (reclaimed wood) in order to access plumbing and mechanicals for the job, and then re-install it as it originally had existed. We faced multiple challenges in this job, due to the age of the house and many interesting methods that had been used to install the systems, originally. It is now up to code and a modern, sleek, and welcoming space.

The tile backsplash in this kitchen is extended to above the windows.

After - the homeowner chose a Shaker style cabinet, which is popular for its clean look and simplicity of style.

Before - there were many, many cabinets in this kitchen, but they were old and very outdated. The layout was cumbersome and a bit confusing. We will be making some small but very effective changes in the footprint.

Before - another view of the congested kitchen, including the peninsula. This was completely reconfigured.

After - we had this custom banquette fabricated to exact specifications. It fits perfectly in the space and was trimmed to match the kitchen cabinetry.

Before - this peninsula closed off the breakfast nook from the rest of the kitchen. By removing it, we are able to increase the flow of the kitchen and install a corner banquette.

After - the new vanity space. By changing how this section of the room was used, we created a true master bath with double sinks and mirrors. This vanity has tons of storage for the homeowners, with a gorgeous marble top.

Before - this outdated tub / tile / wallpaper combo was removed. We reconfigured the footprint of the bathroom so that this space became the home for the beautiful and functional double vanity. This change makes the room feel significantly more useable.

After - the new shower is now large and open. With modern tile on the walls and floor, and a luxury shower head, it has a spa like feel. The glass doors keep the space open, where it was very closed in before.

After - the new shower has a beautiful mosaic floor and a corner bench for comfort. The marble ledge is perfect for shampoo and personal items. Our expertise in tile is showcased here. Notice the grout lines match perfectly.

Master bathroom in progress - this floor grid is for heating. The bathroom will have warm and cozy floors to walk on when it's finished.

Master bathroom in progress. We never skimp on waterproofing, because we want every bathroom to be water tight.

Before - this master bathroom was completely outdated, with separate tub and very closed in shower..

Before - master bathroom. The outdated sink, tub, shower, tile and wallpaper needed replacing. By changing the footprint of this room, and moving the sink to the opposite wall, we are able to make the shower larger and make the room feel more spacious and luxurious.
