Kitchen and Bathroom remodel with layout reconfiguration - GN Construction LLC

Kitchen and Bathroom remodel with layout reconfiguration

In this project, we reconfigured the layout of the first floor of this home, and remodeled both the kitchen and bathroom. We removed the wall between the dining room and the kitchen and installed a peninsula to maximize usable space. We reconfigured existing space that was a first floor bedroom, mudroom, half bath, and hallway into a beautiful full bath and family room. We installed new hardwood floors where necessary, milled trim to match the existing original trimwork, and did a complete bathroom transformation, including plumbing and window relocation. This was a complicated and intricate project, and we rose to the challenge - the finished work is truly spectacular!

Kitchen cabinet installation has begun. Notice the radiator, currently exposed. This will require some special configuration to remain in the kitchen.

In order to keep this radiator where it is, a custom "cabinet" frame needed to be constructed. We used a cabinet that matched the others being installed, but changed the way it functioned. Instead of a typical base cabinet, it is now open, with a screen front, to enable heat flow to the kitchen. This is the true definition of custom cabinetry!

This doorway leading to a hallway and mudroom will be closed, and the refrigerator will be moved into the kitchen, where it belongs.

The doorway has been closed, and the kitchen cabinet installation has begun. The refrigerator will now be placed in a convenient spot right in the kitchen.

This is the small, dark, original interior half bathroom. Space will be taken from the hallway the refrigerator was sitting in, and an under-used closet, and it will be turned into a large and beautiful full bathroom.

The new, large bathroom is framed. Backer board is installed. The owners have elected to install a window in this shower, where there previously was no natural light. The space for the window is framed.

Tiling underway on the floor and new shower.

Shower complete, with new window and floating glass doors.

This is now a gorgeous full bathroom with a large shower. The owner chose tile to be consistent with the age and period of the house. Notice that the tile on the floor of the shower is the same as on the floor of the room. Our expertise in tile work is showcased here, because you can see the grout lines align perfectly between the shower base and the floor, even though they are on different levels.

My husband and I retained GN Construction to paint some common areas of our new home and replace certain fixtures while we were on our honeymoon. They far exceeded our expectations in terms of professionalism, quality and performance. The owner, Guy Neumann, took extra care to ensure that we were 100% satisfied and assisted us with replacing our selected lighting fixture - at no additional charge -due to safety concerns, after it had already been installed! Moreover, the entire process was worry free, our home was spotless when they were finished and they made sure the work was fully completed to their own standards of excellence. I would absolutely recommend GN Construction for any home improvement project, small or big – after vetting numerous contractors, I am confidant that they will provide competitive pricing for superior craftsmanship. We are truly grateful to Guy and GN Construction for helping to make our new home “ours,” and will be calling them in the future to assist us with our ongoing home improvement efforts. Thank you Guy and GN Construction!!

When we decided to remodel our main bathroom, I took in several quotes. We chose to go with GN Construction and are so glad we did. The owner, Guy, was great from start to finish. He came to the house personally, walked me through the job, made recommendations and checked in during the work to provide updates to the progress and the timeline. The crew that did the job (a full gutting and rebuild) was friendly and professional. The work was done on time, looked amazing, and I found the price to be extremely fair. I'm not sure what else I could ask for? I would not hesitate for a second to recommend GN Construction for any job at your house. In fact, I was pleased enough to bring them back several weeks later for a large painting and repair job and I was once again very pleased with the results!!

We recently had renovations performed at our home by GN Construction (namely refinishing wood floors) that required us to be out of the house for an extended period. We therefore placed a great deal of trust in GN Construction and we were rewarded with a superior result. The work was performed to budget and on time. We recommend GN Construction and will be using them again in the future.
